Our VoIP services Minimize

What is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

VoIP uses digital technology to transmit phone calls via the Internet in order to bypass the use of traditional telecommunication companies.

Despite the difference in technology used with VoIP, when compared to that used by traditional landline phones; phone calls, dialing, talking on the phone, and receiving phone calls, all work exactly the same way.

Vlocity and VoIP

We provide direct connectivity to five of the top major VoIP providers in the country. If your VoIP provider is on any major ISP backbone, we can connect you directly. This service is far superior to using a broadband connection, and is far more akin to a Diginet or leased line dedicated service. With our national grid, we can offer inter-branch connectivity directly with no breakout to the Internet.

Using your existing wireless link to our network, we are able to provide a separate dedicated VoIP "Channel"

We isolate the VoIP traffic completely from your other connections or services with us.

We have created a system whereby we have multiple backbones on our network. Some for carrying broadband data and others for carrying VoIP data. This means that the one is not affected by the other.

Instead of relying on typical QOS services, we have isolated the traffic, ensuring the route the data takes for VoIP is not affected by the traffic used for the Boradband service. This ensures a high quality and very low latencies.

VoIP requires consistantly low latency in order to perform properly. VoIP is a bidirectional service. i.e. it requires good speeds in both outbound routes as well as inbound. Broadband services are not guaranteed speeds. Broadband services like ADSL only offer very slow upload speeds with faster download speeds. Because VoIP is a bidirectional requirement, most broadband services cannot support more than 2 or 3 VoIP Lines. This has limited VoIP providers to smaller companies, or forced them to use expensice Diginet services. With our VoIP service, we offer speeds up to a few Megabytes in both Directions.

The requirement for these services, are that the ISP providing the VoIP service must be situated on our backbone network. We do not break out through the internet to make these VoIP connections. We link them direct from the customer premises to the VoIP server, bypassing the limitations and expense of the internet breakout.
