What is wireless security?
Wireless connectivity can be used for video surveillance as it has the ability to create long range connections over almost any terrain. Running as a completely self contained independent network, this offers major security enhancements for surveillance, access control and other security requirements. Cable over a distance has the problem of exposure, coexisting with existing infrastructure and cabling. These factors make a cable infrastructure costly, inefficient and unsecure.
Wireless connectivity offers very fast implementation, over difficult or impossible terrain, with high speeds and very large distances. An added advantage is ownership of the network as part of the integrated security solution.
Instead of investment being spent on costly monthly rental, wireless offers the opportunity to permanently own the infrastructure and low maintenance costs by having in-house maintenance involvement.
Vlocity and Security
Vlocity is not a security company. We prefer to leave this expertise up to security professionals who are qualified and have the expertise. Vlocity is a networking company. Where security is concerned, Vlocity handles any networking component required to create a robust connection for your security system. Any data, be it VoIP or camera systems, is simply data. We manage that data and ensure a smooth flow of data over the network. Camera security systems running over wireless networks, can be unstable. We have developed mechanisms to stabalise these connections and provide reliable streams of data over long distances.
Vlocity works side by side with camera installers, to provide a stable platform for remote monitoring of high volumes of cameras and systems. Using our skills in networking and VoIP, we can combine a security system to incorporate multiple features. Cameras can be linked to VoIP Systems to provide communications to personnel and/or intruders on the other side.
Long distance remote monitoring has become the latest defense against crime. Personnel who monitor systems, are often intimidated if located at the same site as the cameras they monitor. By relocating these personnel to a remote unknown location, we can provide a far more reliable and secure environment.
